General wounded by terror bomb
Basque separatists strike again

A Spanish general was among a dozen people injured in a June 28 bombing attributed to Basque separatists.

Gen. Justo Oreja Pedraza was hospitalized, and listed in critical condition, after a bomb exploded at a bank in Madrid. The 12 other people who were injured suffered relatively minor lacerations and abrasions.

Police indicated that the bomb had been set to be activated by remote control when Gen. Pedraza passed the place where it was planted. Although there were no immediate arrests, authorities quickly announced that the bomb was placed by the Basque separatist group ETA.
