We never know how God will use us to touch and heal others...

Eduardo Verástegui, while his most recent film
—For Greater Glory— was debuting in Mexico, was touring
Rome with a group of his friends.
In Eduardo’s own words: “There is nothing greater in the whole
world than the Blessed Eucharist.… Without the Eucharist we are nothing.” I met this special group
of pilgrims at St. Peter’s Basilica early in the morning and we squeezed tightly into a crypt chapel.
It was a grace for me to be able to celebrate the Mass for a man, not only of great fame, but also of
great faith.
Later that day is when the miracle took place.
It happened when one of the American actors and his father got on their knees
and headed up the Holy
Stairs. The family had suffered the loss of a child years ago, and it seemed the wound has still
not completely healed. Halfway up, knees hurting, suddenly the father experienced a spiritual lifting
of his soul. Surroundings began to fade away, and he felt as if he were about to float away. In the
same moment he grabbed his son’s hand and shared with him the feeling of a real, strong present of
his miscarried child and sibling. Wow! But it didn’t end there…
Later that evening, we humbly invited the group to dine
at our seminary in Rome. After the meal, a seminarian shared his talent on the guitar with us. And
providentially, among those he played, was this song that I share with you here.
Through
the generosity of Eduardo and the grace of God, this family was touched, healed and brought to
tears.
We ourselves never
know how God will use us, but he can only do so if we give him our hands and hearts and… like in
this case, also our voices. Enjoy!
And may God bepraised that among us today, miracles still
happen!
