Today marks World Day Against the Death Penalty

This year’s world day is focusing on the inhumanity of the death penalty as a cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment and punishment.

“While the death penalty is sold as a way to restore humanity, it is the ultimate inhumanity”, says Mario Marazziti the Spokesperson for the St Egidio Community.

He also told Lydia O’Kane that this method of punishment degrades society to the level of the one who kills
