I really think that this segment is really relevant and I think we should reflect what our state in life calls us to do so that we can be a witness to others. I love how the word 'witness' is used in this podcast. It is really beautiful to hear Monsignor Kiely claiming the beauty of this vow of celibacy and I love how you have extended this vow to ... See Moreall single people from the laity because like our priests and religious, we too in the single state have to live celibate lives. Reality is even if one gets married, he or she should be committed to his/her spouse. Marriage in itself is a vow like celibacy, a call to live pure, chaste, and holy lives. The difference is that we are given two distinct gifts that calls us to called to strive for holiness and perfection and if we are willing to cooperate to the divine with of God, we can move towards state of perfection in our relationship with God (Lumen Gentium, #39-42, the chapter on the universal call to holiness in the church). I think this has been pointed out in the podcast as well. Its a really well thought presentation, looking forward for part 3... God bless...
