Fr. Michael encourages us to "attack the net" in our spiritual lives by loving those around us.

In this Sunday's Gospel reading, we hear the story of a sinful woman who comes to Christ. "Bringing an alabaster flask of ointment, she stood behind him at his fieet weeping and began to bathe his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them, and annointed them with the ointment." Jesus tells her that her sins have been forgiven because of her great love. Too often, our spiritual lives consist of merely trying to avoid sin, playing "defense" against the devil. What Christ really wants, however, is our love. Of course, if we love God, we will avoid sin, but acts of love for others are a way of being on "offense" in our spiritual lives. Fr. Michael gives us some tips on how we can do this.
