Fr. Michael reflects on Jesus' words to the woman caught in adultery, "Go and sin no more."

John 8:1-11
In this Sunday's Gospel, we hear the story of the Pharisees who bring a woman to Jesus that was caught in the act of adultery. They are hoping that he will condemn her as was the prescribed punishment. However, Jesus tells them that whoever is without sin may cast the first stone. After all of the Pharisees leave, Jesus turns to the woman and says, "...neither do I condemn you. Go and from now on do not sin any more."
Jesus offers this same mercy to us in the Sacrament of Confession. He wants to forgive our sins and urges us to stay away from future sins:
