Luke 15:1-3, 11-32
In this Sunday's Gospel we hear Jesus tell the parable of the prodigal son. In this parable, a man's younger son asks, "Father, give me the share of your estate that should come to me." Upon receiving it, the son immediately goes away and proceeds to waste everything on a life of sin. It is only when he is starving that he realizes his sin and humbled, returns to his father, expecting to be treated as a hired worker. Instead, hisi father, "...ran to his son, embraced him and kissed him." This parable explains to us the great mercy of our Heavenly Father. No matter what we have done, or how long we have been away from him, he is waiting for us with open arms in the sacrament of Confession. Father Michael talks about how we should take advantage of God's mercy this Lent.Email Fr. Michael at firstname.lastname@example.org
