In this Sunday's Gospel, we hear Jesus tell his disciples, "Blessed are the poor".
What does this teaching mean for us today?
Is he demanding that we give up all of our possessions?
Fr. Michael explains that this is probably not what Jesus is asking of us.
Rather, we should be detached from our material goods so that we can keep our focus on God.
There are many different ways that we can have this poverty of spirit, and Fr. Michael gives a few examples.
May God bless you!
