New Haven, CT -- (Catholic.net) -- 12/16/2009 – Catholic.net announces its social media enhanced mobile phone version. Mobile phone users have access to over 40 thousand faith formation articles on both English and Spanish. Multimedia content is also available.

Alike the web portal itself, the content on the Catholic.net mobile version is fully enhanced with social media optimization. This allows users to share Catholic.net content on their profiles on popular social networks like Facebook, MySpace, Orkut, and dozens of others. Users can also e-mail articles and post comments to the content right from their cell phone.

The most popular content: Liturgy, devotionals, and daily Saints are highlighted in the Catholic.net mobile version for easy access.

Users who have online multimedia enabled mobile phones – i.e., Blackberry 9000 or higher, and Windows Mobile -- can also listen to the 24/7 Catholic.net Radio, which is powered by Immaculate Heart Radio.

The mobile site was created in response to the growing user demand for fast and convenient access to content. “Our mission is to provide the necessary technological tools to support the New Evangelization.” Comments Julio Cumplido, the Head of Technology for Catholic.net.

Rosalia Tenorio, Director of Catholic.net, states that “The Catholic.net mobile version is a great tool supporting our mission because it helps users to pray, study the faith, and share Catholic content virtually anywhere at anytime.”

Catholic.net can be accessed through Nokia, Palm, iPhone, Motorola, Blackberry, Sony, Samsung, and Windows mobile phones.

The Spanish mobile version is accessible at www.es.catholic.net/m.
