Apostolic mission: the role of the Rosary prayer when pursuing holiness.
by Father Nicolás Schwizer | Source:
Mary, for the Father, is not simply a devotion. She is a banner. He wants to propose to us the task of erecting a Marian culture. He wants to see the face of Mary imprinted in the new world. In Mary, he shows us his project of the future in the form of a person, of life. In her we find a synthesis between faith and life, between the divine and the huma, between God’s acting and man’s acting. Whoever wants to be a builder and collaborator for the world of tomorrow must be attached to Mary. So that Our Lady may lead them to Christ and the Blessed Trinity. Men and women who have the spirit of a Marian covenant of love must seek the Rosary to accomplish their task of evangelization.
Catholics are all members of an apostolic movement. We have been called to be apostles. If we do not assume that essential mission, we will fail, and our lives will lose the reason for being.
In this comes the importance of examples, of living models. We could name many who have been great apostles and who invite us and motivate us to follow in their footsteps. We now mention João Pozzobon. Without a doubt, he is one of the main missionaries world-wide, one of the major evangelizers in the latest centuries. What he did throughout 35 years is a new method of evangelization, a modern Marian pastoral approach which is for everyone, especially families. What Pozzobon does is the pastoral approach we need. He seeks opportunities for the Blessed Mother, so that she may bring us to Jesus.
In this method of evangelization, the Blessed Mother begins a grand visitation. Through a Rosary campaign, the Our Lady herself leaves her shrines to visit her children, to give them graces and to work miracles of transformation.
The Pilgrim images of the campaign become small pilgrim shrines which extend Mary’s evangelization to all corners of the country. The message and graces arrive in simple way, quicker and more accessible to the people.
Encountering João Pozzobon
What would João Pozzobon want to remind us of? I think he would want to remind us that now we are the ones responsible for keeping on the Rosary campaigns, It is our turn to become instruments on God’s hands. Now, the future of these campaigns depends on us, in our country and beyond.
Inspired by the example of João Pozzobon, let’s renew our vocation as apostles and missionaries. Each one of us is responsible to evangelize the country, each one is responsible in converting it into a nation of God. For that reason we must strive to reach each brother and sister, each home, and to put them all in contact with God and his abundant grace. This is what João Pozzobon did tirelessly and heroically.

1. Am I active on the promotion of the Rosary?
2. Do I pray the Rosary often?
3. How can I help the to promote devotion to the prayer of the Rosary?
