If you wish to view the slide show of images you only need a standard Web browser with graphic capabilities (such as Netscape, Mosaic, Winweb, Spyglass, etc).

If you wish to view the live full-motion video stream or receive audio clips you must have:

If you wish to view the live MBone broadcast you must have:
  • A UNIX workstation with Xwindows or OpenWindows.
  • The following MBONE programs:
    • sd -- Session Directory;
    • nv -- Network Video (not required for just audio);
    • vat -- Visual Audio Tool;
    • mrouted -- MBONE routing daemon, needed in some cases, must be installed by system administrator;
  • Connection to a network provider that supports the Multicast protocol or a "MBONE tunneling" connection to forward Multicast packets.
  • We strongly suggest you read the MBone FAQ.
  • The latest-greatest instructions for installing MBONE can be found in Dan's Quick 'n Dirty Guide to Getting MBONE.
