Instructions for Viewing
Multimedia Presentation of Papal Visit
If you wish to view the slide show of
images you only need a standard Web browser with graphic capabilities
(such as Netscape, Mosaic, Winweb, Spyglass, etc).
If you wish to view the live full-motion video
stream or receive audio clips
you must have:
If you wish to view the live MBone broadcast
you must have:
- A UNIX workstation with Xwindows or OpenWindows.
- The following MBONE programs:
- sd -- Session Directory;
- nv -- Network Video (not required for just audio);
- vat -- Visual Audio Tool;
- mrouted -- MBONE routing daemon, needed in some cases, must be installed
by system administrator;
- Connection to a network provider that supports the Multicast protocol or
a "MBONE tunneling" connection to forward Multicast packets.

America Online, Compuserv, and Prodigy users who have the appropriate
World Wide Web software can view the slide show. However, their respective
carriers should be contacted regarding access to the other broadcasts.
